Chimney Rock Fork to Rt. 653 Bridge (Lower) Class III, 4 Miles "This creek gives beginners
their first taste of continuous gradient. Great run for the playboats on
the lower section. Lots of great play spots open up when this creek is
running. The eddies start to disappear QUICK when the water rises. Big
Stony is primarily a "bedrock" creek run on the lower section, no real big
drops on this run. It is composed of small ledges and slides making for
some very fast water and a fun trip. - Quoted from American Whitewater Description |
